Junior Golf at CHCC is a great way for youth to start enjoying and learning the game of golf. Kids will focus both on having fun and learning the basics of golf. Time will be spent on driving, chipping, and putting.

2025 Crete Junior Golf Clinic and League

College Heights Country Club is offering a Junior Golf Clinic this summer. A Junior Golf League will also be available. We hope participants participate in both offerings (clinic and league), but it is not mandatory (Participants can do the clinic, without participating in the league or vice versa).

College Heights CC Junior Golf Clinic

This year, College Heights Country Club is running a junior golf clinic for children from the ages of 6-17. Our junior golf clinic is designed to teach students the fundamentals of golf. These clinics are designed as an entry-level format and no prior experience is necessary; however, clinics may also serve as refreshers for junior golfers who have been exposed to some instruction or have played the game before. Junior Golf participants are encouraged to bring their own clubs if they have them.

We will split the clinic into two age groups. The age groups and times will be:

● Ages 6-10 - will run from 8:30 am - 9:30 am
● Ages 11+ - will run from 9:30 am - 10:30 am

June: 9th-13th

(6-10): 8:30 am - 9:30 am

(11+): 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Instruction Focus: During the week, junior golfers will be taught the grip, stance, posture, putting/chipping mechanics, and basic skills of hitting a golf ball.

Cost of the clinic will be $60 per child. Clinic cost will include 5 hours of teaching, range balls, and Junior Hat.

Crete Junior Golf League

Welcome to Crete’s Junior Golf League beginning June 19th. This is a free league to all juniors whose parents have a family membership and a one-time payment of $20 for all non-members.

League: Please understand this is a league and not a camp or lessons. The clinics will be run by Coach Drew Rische. Very little golf instruction will be given during the league since participants will be spread out throughout the course. To be eligible for the league, your son or daughter must be able to play 9 holes without supervision. Priority will be given to those aged 12 and above with limited openings for younger players who can navigate the course. Since the course will be open to the public at this time, we cannot have groups slowing up the play of the course.

Divisions/Format:

Operation 36: Operation 36 provides beginners with the most effective developmental programs to learn to play golf. Become a skilled golfer by following a motivating roadmap to shooting Par (36) or better for 9 holes. This group will tee off from the Junior Tees located approximately 120 yards away from the green. If/when a player shoots 36 from these tees, he/she may choose to play 9 holes from the red tee box markers or from a distance somewhere in between.

9 Holes: This group will play 9 holes from either the red, white, or blue tees based on ability. This will typically be the high school kids, but there may be a few younger kids who qualify for this division.

Scoring: After the completion of the rounds, scorecards will be collected by Drew Rische. Drew will enter scores into a spreadsheet to keep an active log of the results. These results will be made available to those interested. Depending on the number of participants, a points system will be created for the top 2 divisions.

Schedule: This tentative schedule is based on total program involvement. Each week the 1st tee time will be at 10:00. Depending on the number of groups necessary, we will also schedule tee times through 10:30.

June: 19, 26 (Thursday)

July: 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 (Thursdays)
